If you have your own swimming pool then you are incredibly lucky because there are many other families all across Australia who would love to have what you have and the ability to be able to take a swim any time of the day or night is something that we would all love to have. It will help your family to stay together and to strengthen the family bond which many other families over the 2 ½ to 3 years were unable to do. Having a swimming pool comes with a great deal of responsibility and that includes the safety of everyone who uses it which includes all of your family members and neighbours if you invite them over.

If you moved into the property and the pool was already built then you probably assumed that it was in perfect working order and that it was fit for purpose. To the untrained eye, this might seem to be the case but with closer scrutiny by pool certifiers in Sydney, there may be many ongoing issues that you are not currently aware of. The following are just some of the things that might be pointed out to you about your swimming pool.

  • A loose ladder – Your ladder is fixed to the side of the swimming pool full of clothes and you can possibly see if they are coming loose or if they are rusting away. The last thing that you want to happen is for the ladder to come loose while someone is climbing into or out of the swimming pool. Someone could be badly injured and they may require hospital care is going to have to pay for out of your own pocket or purse.
  • Loose or missing tiles – A loose tile sticking out can cause a nasty injury which could result in a very deep cut to someone’s foot that may also require hospital care. If tiles are actually missing from the bottom of your pool, then not only is it going to look unsightly but it may lead to other tiles coming loose as well.
  • Safety equipment – You need to make sure that you have all of the safety equipment that you need to keep the people that use your pool is safe at all times. It’s going to require a little bit of investment on your part but if it can save a life then it is money very well spent.

These are just some of the issues that might come up during the lifetime of your swimming pool and there are numerous more.
